Note: Aside from its world premiere production in Scarborough in 1967, this rehearsed reading marks the only other time The Sparrow has been publicly performed in its entirety. Although withdrawn from production, special permission was given to the amateur theatre company Dick & Lottie to perform a rehearsed reading of the play as part of an Ayckbourn readathon celebrating the Ayckbourn-dedicated company’s 10th anniversary.
